How to Choose the Perfect Foundation

Sephora + Pantone Color IQ

Finding a shade of foundation that matches your skin tone can be a tough task. Most of us know firsthand how disappointing it is to spend the time and effort picking out a color only to get home and find out it’s too dark or too light. Now, thanks to a partnership between Sephora and Pantone, it’s easy to find a product that’s just right.

The Sephora + Pantone Color IQ is a handheld device that scans the surface of your skin, assigns it an official Pantone SkinTone number, and then searches Sephora’s database of approximately 1,000 foundations to find the perfect match for you. Recommended products can be sorted by brand, skin type, SPF, and more on an in-store iPad for easy shopping.

The service is currently available at approximately three dozen Sephora locations, with more being added throughout the year.

Wow, this is soo clever! I wish I had access to that but I’m in the UK and we don’t have Sephora here.. but I really like the idea if this. I just find I need to do my homework when it comes to picking the right foundation and I have just read an article on about finding the right shade.. it’s very helpful so check it out if you’re still in doubt!
