How to Make Your Morning Oatmeal More Exciting

oatmeal with mango and coconutLet’s face it—a bowl of oatmeal may be healthy, but it isn’t always the most thrilling breakfast in the world. You can jazz it up with standard toppings like cinnamon, maple syrup, raisins, and sliced bananas, but that can get a little tiresome, too. Here are some fresh new ways to serve up oatmeal:

  • Try a tropical spin with fresh mango, toasted coconut, and cashews
  • Top with plain Greek yogurt and marmalade (or your favorite jam)
  • Stir in creamy peanut butter and garnish with grapes for a fun play on PB&J
  • Who says oatmeal has to be sweet? Go the savory route by adding grated Cheddar, paprika, and chopped scallion

The possibilities are endless. Check out this gallery for more tasty ways to dress up plain oatmeal (including the recipe for Oatmeal With Mango and Coconut, shown above).

Not too crazy for oatmeal but I’m always looking for great ways to improve the taste :) I’d love to try this one out!
