I’m so happy asparagus is back in season. When it’s fresh, it’s one of my favorite spring vegetables. But since I’m usually cooking for one or two, I don’t go through a whole bunch in one meal. So I’ll be using this tip for storing asparagus in the fridge.
To make the spears last longer treat them almost like you would a bouquet of flowers. Trim the ends and place them standing up in an inch of water (a vase or a plastic tumbler should do the trick), then cover the tips loosely with a plastic bag.
