The Fastest Way to Compost…Ever

Quick Compost Technique

Have you ever heard of cold composting? The basic idea is that you use your blender to speed up the break down process that turns food scraps into rich fuel for your garden. I came across a tutorial on the blog for my local garden store, and I think I might have to try it out when I plant some new plants this weekend.

Simply take your food scraps and water and mix them up in your blender. Then mix the slurry in with your soil as your planting your garden. Be sure you get it really mixed in there well. This will feed the soil without having to wait for your scraps to turn into compost.

Have you ever tried this? If you want more advice, check out our guide on how to compost.

My daughter has been doing this and putting it around a rosebush. It had the largest, most beautiful roses last summer. It also provides moisture.

This will really speed things up. I don’t know if it would be sustainable in the long term but definitely worth a go.
