    I did the same thing for papers, but with a desktop literature organizer (has horizontal slots so that papers can lie down) that you can find at any office supply store. I labeled each slot with a number, then when I have a project that I want to store the papers for it, I find an empty slot, note the # on the slot, and write a to-do item that says “12- Work on taxes” and know that slot #12 in this example has my tax papers.
