It may be tempting to browse your favorite retailer’s sites without registering, but doing so may cause you to miss out on some great bargains.
According to a recent study by Listrak, about 19 percent of top e-tailers will send customers a special offer when they navigate away from their shopping cart in hopes of luring them back. More than half of these companies will send the e-mail within 24 hours.
Retailers like Lands’ End, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Zappos reportedly folllow up with shoppers who abandon their shopping carts. I’ve also managed to score a 10 percent discount on concert tickets when I left the ticketing site to mull over my potential purchase.
Moral of the story? It might not be such a bad idea to log in, save the item to your cart, and then step away from the computer for a bit. You might just receive a special offer such as free shipping!
