Super Bowl, or Downton Abbey?

Super Bowl or Downton Abbey?

Just taking a show of hands to see who won. I watched the Super Bowl, but ironed napkins during the second quarter, just to get myself in the Downton mindset. And then the “power surge” (quotation marks because—really? You mean to tell me that the blackout was not caused by a Silicon Valley hacker wanting a reset button for the 49ers?  That is the theory of Real Simple Executive Editor Sarah Humphreys, and I stand by Sarah on that one) very conveniently made it even easier to choose Downton Abbey over the Superdome.

It felt downright un-American, but was worth it to see Ethel pull off the luncheon. I may even make salmon mousse for the next Super Bowl.

on the west coast, it’s not really an either/or question, the answer could be all of both

Had the same dilemma. However, once DA started, I forgot there was a Superbowl. It was nice tune in after the show. Best of both worlds.

No competition here. I sometimes wish I lived at Downton, and I’d be happy upstairs or down.

I don’t have a proper tv, but I definitely would have watched Downton Abbey. In that vein, I watched “Upstairs, Downstairs” on Netflix.
