Where did the year go? Today, Google unveiled its annual Year-End Zeitgeist, which highlights the moments, people, places, and pop culture phenomenons that took over the Web.

Videos like this always make me well up: maybe it’s the iconic photo of Gabby Douglas on the balance beam or the Wisconsin TV anchor who took to the airwaves to respond to being called fat. Or when Gangnam Style and Honey Boo Boo meet the Arab Spring and the passing of many an icon. It’s an interesting look into where our minds went this year.
