A Better Way to Do Holiday Wish Lists

Little girl writing a wish list

It’s no secret that wish lists are one of the easiest ways to simplify holiday shopping. But wish lists can be a little, well, impersonal. Where is the fun in buying exactly what someone wants? (Disclaimer: This is coming from someone who loves to find the perfect gift.) But I do recognize how helpful it can be to have some holiday shopping hints. That’s why I think this reader idea (from the Real Simple and Women & Co. Holiday Shopping Survey) is so creative–and helps me from getting my nephew Beyblades, when that is “so last year.”

For our younger family members, I use a questionnaire called ‘My favorite…’, which is a list of 20 questions such as ‘What is your favorite color? Favorite character in a movie?’ The kids find it fun and it helps me know what they are into these days.

Love this idea. How do you simplify holiday shopping? And if you’re still at a loss, browse our holiday gift guide for some inspiration.
