Holiday Entertaining: Make Your Own Cocktail Shaker from a Mason Jar
I don’t know about you, but I only own one cocktail shaker. I live in a small apartment after all. But with holiday party season now officially upon us (I’ve been mentally planning my outfits all week), I’m not sure one shaker will cut it.
Luckily, one thing we do have in abundance in our apartment is mason jars. So I was excited to see this DIY tutorial for turning one into a cocktail shaker on Instructables. The key is to have two inner lids. You’ll put the solid one one to actually shake the cocktail, and use the one with the holes to strain it.
I’m guessing that you could just as easily use a Hawthorne strainer on the jar depending on its size, but there’s something fun about making it all out of mason jar parts.

That’s a great idea… thanks for sharing!
