This morning, Pantone—those brilliant color gurus—announced their color of the year for 2013, and it’s emerald. According to the release, emerald is a “vivid verdant green, [that] enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony.”

I love this choice for 2013. While sapphire will always be my favorite (it is my birthstone, after all), I’m a big fan of jewel tones, and I’ll be looking forward to adding some emerald to my wardrobe and apartment in the next year. Here are some pieces I have my eye on:
