November 21, 2012 | By | Comments (1)

If holiday travel hasn’t soured you on making it through airport security, and you want to explore a new destination while giving something back, consider going on a volunteer vacation.

You can find projects to fit just about every interest, and travel all over the globe. Check out these three sites to find programs that work for you:

Cross-Cultural Solutions

Global Citizens Network

Globe Aware

We’re donating $1 for every Facebook share, Facebook like, and Tweet (up to $1,000) on the posts tagged charity from November 15th on. The donations will go to Donor’s Choose projects that have been started to help classrooms affected by the storm.

You can find out more about Donor’s Choose here, and we’ll let you know when we’ve reached our $1,000 goal. So, start sharing and help us get these classes back in session.

I’d be much happier to spend my vacation volunteering if it didn’t cost so much to do so. Airfare, lodging, food, PLUS the amount it would take to be a part of the volunteering? Kinda ridiculous if you ask me.
