Even if you’re on the Do Not Call List, you might still get telemarketing calls from charities and non-profits requesting your donations. While this is perfectly legal, Charity Navigator recommends that you think twice before donating.

Why? Because if you donate via the telemarketing call, the charity might not be getting your full donation. If they’ve hired a firm to help them reach new donors, they will have to pay for that service. If it’s a cause you’d like to support, let the caller know that you’ll be heading to the website to make your donation directly.
