If you head to the gym daily (or at least a few times a week), this tip will help you get the most out of your cardio workout. Not only will you be more alert than if you go early in the morning or late at night, your lungs are also using oxygen more efficiently, and you’re more coordinated, which translates to fewer treadmill-related injuries.

Aim to start your run or elliptical session between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. That way you’ll be done at least 3 hours before you head to bed and all that post-exercise energy won’t keep you from getting enough shut-eye.
