What’s Up with Those Little Holes in T-Shirts?

Do you have unexplained little holes around the waist or hem of your T-shirts? You’re not alone, turns out they’re pretty common. Frequently caused by belts, hardware on your pants or jeans, and even leaning against counters or snagging the material in your seat belt, they can make a tee go from your favorite look to the rag pile in no time flat.

So, while you can’t totally prevent them, there a few things to keep in mind:

  • Heavier fabrics will be more resistant to the things that cause those holes.
  • The longer the fiber the sturdier the shirt. (Experts recommend Pima cotton.)
  • A shirt with a little bit of stretch to it will also have a better chance at staying hole-free.
