In my book, Effie’s qualifies as the everything cookie.  It’s not too sweet for a mid-afternoon snack—some might even let themselves count it as a cracker—but two or three are decadent enough for an after dinner treat.

Put out a plate at a laid-back party, and they’ll disappear before anything else.  Butter and toasted oats with a hint of sugar make for easy topping, too.  I’ve tried them with everything from a mild goat cheese to peanut butter to Nutella.
