Think it’s just your mind that’s bored on the treadmill? Turns out your body is actually “bored,” as well. After doing the same strength or cardio routine a few times in a row your body actually acclimates to it and burns fewer calories.

What’s the solution? Vary your workouts. If you’re a die-hard fan of the elliptical, switch it up occasionally and try a Zumba or spinning class. It will keep your muscles guessing and might just make you dread the gym a little less.
