If you overdid it at the gym (or maybe rearranging furniture or helping a friend move), here are three simple ways to soothe those aching muscles and get on the road to recovery faster.
- Drink lots of water, which will increase blood flow to your muscles.
- Go for a long walk. It’s important to keep moving, but you don’t want to overexert yourself.
- Stretch long and slow. Avoid any stretches that involve bouncing, instead slowly lengthen your muscles and hold the stretch for 10 seconds.
When all else fails, it’s also okay to take an anti-inflammatory, just so long as you follow the instructions on the package.
