How Do You Handle a Determined Lip Kisser?

As far as I’m concerned, there are two kinds of people in life: those who kiss you on the lips, and those who kiss you on the cheek.

ACCEPTABLE LIP KISSERS

  • Your spouse/romantic partner
  • Your toddler
  • Your grandfather
  • Your former boyfriend

QUESTIONABLE LIP KISSERS

  • Your teenage child
  • Your siblings
  • Your best friend

UNACCEPTABLE LIP KISSERS

  • Your neighbor
  • Your coworker
  • Anyone who goes for your lips when you offer a cheek.  (Honestly.)

This has been on my mind quite a bit lately as our youngest, who just turned 5, is an unapologetic lip kisser. If you offer him a cheek he will bob and weave until he can plant a big wet one right on your kisser. This used to be quite cute but I wonder: At what age does it become slightly creepy? When he hits puberty? When he starts elementary school? Uh, next week?
