My mom was always in charge of baking gingerbread cookies for our church’s annual holiday boutique. This meant holiday baking was in full force in our house no later than the day after Thanksgiving. With hundreds of cookies to bake and decorate within just a week or two, we all pitched in to help decorate dozens of cookies.
Because of that, I’ve always associated the holiday season with plenty of baking and the soft scent of cinnamon and cloves. Over the years, I’ve decided that the best holiday cookies are gingerbread men, sugar cookies, and peanut blossoms.
This year I’m excited to participate in my first cookie swap. While reading a few of my favorite blogs, I discovered The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap.
It’s a bit different than a traditional cookie swap, since it is virtual, but I’m sure it’ll be just as fun. Now, if only I could decide what to make!
Luckily, I’m sure Real Simple’s 50 Best Holiday Cookies will give me plenty of mouthwatering ideas.
What’s your favorite holiday cookie? Have you ever participated in a cookie or other kind of food swap?
