What’s Your Favorite Halloween Candy?

Halloween is almost here—can you guess which candy is at the top of everyone’s minds (or at least their Internet searches)? According to Yahoo!, the most-searched Halloween candy this month is M&M’s. Candy corn, chewy caramels, and Skittles are also popular searches. But what was your favorite Halloween candy when you were a kid?

I remember coming home from trick-or-treating and dumping out all my loot on the floor, tallying up the total number of items and dividing them into piles. At the top of my list? Kit Kats and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, definitely. I also went through a phase where I loved Whatchamacallits. Finding Nestle Crunch and Snickers in my loot bag were wins, too. My least favorite? I hated Smarties; they reminded me of the chewable vitamins I had to eat every day. I also shunned the Hershey’s Dark miniatures (too bitter), Mounds and Almond Joy (the coconut was weird), and Peppermint Patties (the minty interior was just all wrong).

To get you in the mood for the holiday, here are some fun recipes you can make using Halloween candy—I’m eyeing the Twix Cheesecake Pie and the Candy Corn and Pretzel Bark, though maybe I’ll make that with dark chocolate to cut some of the sweetness (I’ve gotten over my dislike of dark chocolate).
