I don’t know about you, but I think lamps and reading chairs are two of the hardest things to buy for your home. But once you’ve found the perfect lamp (I’m partial to this Kathryn Lamp from Crate & Barrel, but luckily I found a less expensive version of it.), you can make small changes to it to keep it feeling fresh.
My favorite lamp upgrade is this tutorial on adding a metallic lining to your lampshade from Little Green Notebook:
Jenny, the blogger behind Little Green notebook, took a plain white drum shade from Target and dyed it and lined it with metallic contact paper. I love the results and can’t wait to try it on a lamp in my home.
What do you think? Is this DIY something you’d try?
