Some say it’s all about the dress–but for me it’s all about the SHOES! And when I say shoes, I mean it. I will wear no less than 5 pairs of shoes on my wedding day!
To many, that’s excessive. To me, it’s essential.
Being the shoe-crazy gal that I am, I could not bring myself to chose just ONE pair of shoes for arguably the biggest day of my life. I have very diverse tastes, which needed to be reflected in my footwear.
My budget for shoes was not big, so I relied on my expert bargain shopping skills (and a few serious discounts/gifts that come with my fabulous job). My favorite flash sale website–Rue La La– really helped, along with a few trips to the Franklin Mill outlets near Philadelphia (one of my favorite places for a deeply discounted designer find).
So without further ado, here is my fabulous fleet of wedding day shoes…
The Ceremony shoes: Loeffler Randall’s Paige stiletto
The Cocktail Hour Shoes: Badgley Mischka’s Dreamy Sandals
The Dinner & My Something-Blue Shoes: Badgley Mischka’s Randall Heels
The Dancing & Dessert Shoes: Edmundo Castillo Heels
The End-Of-The-Night & After-Party Shoes: Stuart Weitzman’s Grace Sandal
Believe it or not, I actually won these shoes by playing ping pong against Stuart Weitzman (yes–THE Stuart Weitzman). He setup a ping pong table at his Resort 2011 preview and had editors try to score as many points as they could on him (he is an avid ping pong player, so no one could beat him). I came in third place with a total of 5 points and won a $500 gift certificate towards shoes at his Madison Avenue store. I’ve had these unworn beauties in my closet since last Fall just so I could wear them on my wedding day!
There might be a 6th pair in the works! And no, I don’t have any flats. If I can’t stand the heat I’ll simply go barefoot–I’ll be on Martha’s Vineyard, it’s only right.
46 more days!
