What Was on the Royal Wedding Menu

Did you get up at 5 a.m. today to watch the ceremony? Have you been speculating about Kate’s dress for months? Did you splurge on Will and Kate tooth tattoos? I certainly didn’t do any of the above. The post-wedding photos and highlight videos today were plenty for me; because honestly, I just don’t care all that much.

I did, however, spy the full lunchtime reception menu over on Eatocracy.com, and that actually does interest me. (Pretty much anything involving food interests me.) The dishes all sound very British and very amazing, including smoked haddock fishcakes, mini Yorkshire puddings with roast beef, quail eggs with celery salt, and bubble and squeak with lamb (bubble and squeak is a traditional English dish of potatoes and vegetables fried together until browned and crisp—sort of like a hash brown). Apparently, more than 10,000 canapés were served and all of the ingredients were sourced locally. Impressive! You can check out the full royal wedding menu here and see beautiful photos of the food here.
