Genius! The Stowaway Bathtub

I'm a sucker for good hidden storage ideas. I like everything in my home to have a place and be put away. (Not that that normally happens, but I'm very happy when it does.) So when I was catching up on my blog reading over the long weekend, a post on Apartment Therapy Chicago made me stop and take a second look.

Check out this bathtub with built-in storage:

I don't think it would be great for storing your day to day goods if you have a shower. You wouldn't want to drip lots of water under the tub. But for cleaning supplies, and extra toiletries, or kids tub toys, I think it's a great solution.

Apparently, the tub hasn't hit markets yet, and there's no information about retail price. But if you're in the market for a new bath tub, this is one to keep on your radar.

What do you think? Would you want this tub in your home? Or have you seen any hidden storage products recently that made you stop and take a second look?

Y’know, I’m wondering if I couldn’t just pop the panels on my current jetted tub, to the same effect. Cool.

  2. That is just so clever! Would be great for all sorts of storage of the things that don’t quite fit in the bathroom and laundry cupboards. But looking at the picture of the bath with the doors opened for some strange reason makes me think of a Batmobile going into stealth mode before it goes along the ceiling – now that kind of a bathtub would be ultra-cool!
