Looking to match your shade to the drapes? Or the wallpaper? Or are you simply looking to have a lampshade that no one else has? Well you're in luck. I was on the Duffy website earlier and noticed a clever and affordable DIY self assembly lampshade kit that I have to share because It's fantastic. The kit is called Stick It (great name!) and it allows you to create your own lampshade design in minutes. You can stick your own designs onto the sticky outside layer using wallpaper, papers, fabric, whatever you would like! The shade kit is under $20 and can be used for either a floor light or pendant lamp so it's both affordable and versatile (available in 30 or 45 cm).

Would you like to do something like this? I think it would be great to give it a try and for that price, you can't beat it!

How funny. Just bought new lampshades today that I plan to decorate. These shades look like they were meant to be decorated because they are made from a cardboard like material and just brown, like a brown bag. I bought “designer” tissue paper that I thought maybe I could paper mache onto the shades. It was great to see the video on this companies site because it gave me some additional ideas as to how I could adhere the tissue paper.
I am desperately looking for square or rectangle lamp shades. Does anyone have a source for these? I’ve seen a bunch that are more trapezoid, smaller at top then bottom. But I really want a perfect square or perfect rectangle.
any help is so appreciated!
I got two kits last year from the Duffy website. I made one out of a floral print i designed and it now hangs in my bedroom! They are so clever, and pretty easy to make! I just have to get on to the other one…
ingenious idea!I have two lampshades begging to have some personality in them…oh & I got the “homemade home ” book by Sania Pell….I’m dying to do the china transfers!glad u posted about it! now checking on this kit, <$20 bucks…what a steal!
tried this twice!
This is a great idea! Thank you for sharing. Have you ordered yours yet? If so, how did it turn out?
I really like this idea and it seems like a lot of fun. Thanks for posting!
I’ve been looking up DIY lampshade info all afternoon, and this is the first place with some information that was exactly what I was looking for. Great looking projects too, thanks for sharing!
I do love this simple classic lampshade shape. The plastic sheet appears to be a perfect canvas for xacto knife cutting too! I’d love to cut a design out of it instead of applying images….
I would like to order a DIY lamp shade kit for a square lamp shade. Does Duffy London sell a lampshade kit for this shape, and can I order it and have it sent to the states? Or does Duffy London have a US website? Thanking you in advance.
Fab post to purchase stick it lampshades
This is so brilliant. It can modify the appearance of your area spectacularly.
Once you’ve decided what would look good where, and how large of furniture
you can purchase, you need to set your budget. Decide how much money you
are willing to part with and stick to it.
All the lampshades look beautiful. But, the lampshade with pictures is outstanding. Its a good idea to incorporate memories of photos in that. Really great work.
