Looking for new tiles? You’ll want to read this! Dwell just announced their collaboration with Heath Ceramics called Dwell Patterns which is a modular tile system soon that will debut at the upcoming Dwell on Design 2010, the West Coast’s largest design show, in Los Angeles from June 25-27, 2010.

Designed by Catherine Bailey (Co-founder of Heath Ceramics along with husband Robin Petravic) and Chris Deam (designer, architect, and husband to Lara Hedberg Deam, founder of Dwell Media which is a parent company of Dwell magazine), this gorgeous new line will be available as of August 1st and only through Heath Ceramics.

Dwell Patterns is comprised of three new tile shapes: Little diamond, wide hex, half hex. These three tiles give rise to five specially designed layouts which endless pattern and color combinations. The shapes are modern and striking, and while alone they may lean toward a harder modernism, when matched with the long-standing qualities of Heath tiles, the patterns reveal beautiful and individual variation.

As explained by Heath’s Creative Director, Cathy Bailey, “there’s handcrafted warmth even within a very modern design.” The tiles are very much in line with Heath, a company that has been making trend-resistant tableware for years and is one of the few remaining mid-century American potteries.
