Buying Gadgets – Made Easier
Have you heard about Measy? It’s a new website that makes choosing a new electronic device a whole lot easier. Whether you’re searching for a new digital camera, netbook, or HDTV – for yourself or for a holiday gift for that special someone – Measy takes the anxiety, confusion, and overwhelmingly endless options out of the picture.
By answering a short quiz about what features matter to you, which don’t, and what your budget is, Measy is able to narrow down the field in a matter of seconds, helping you find the device that is just the right fit for you. It’s more focused and personal than your regular old search engine, and it’s a lot easier than going from store to store listening to sales pitches and wondering if you’re getting the real scoop.
Here’s a screen shot of the site – it’s very well designed – simple and easy to navigate:
Just how well does it work? A few months ago I was on the hunt for a new digital camera. When I’m about to lay down a nice chunk of change on a new device, I want to be sure about the decision. After weeks of comparative shopping, hours upon hours of internet research, seeking out word-of-mouth recommendations, and plenty of anxious hesitation, I purchased the Cannon G10. It’s the best camera I’ve ever owned, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
So when I heard about Measy, I wanted to test out how well it works. Disclaimer: this isn’t a very scientific test. I went ahead and took the “quiz” on Measy as if I were out looking for the perfect camera (again). I answered all the questions, and within a few moments Measy had found my perfect camera – the Cannon G10. It literally came up first on the list of cameras that Measy recommended based on my needs and wants.
The takeaway? I’m sure of two things: I own the best camera for me, and Measy works.
Now, if only Measy had been around sooner – it would have saved me hours upon hours of searching and deliberating!
Added bonus: Measy helps you find a place to recycle/donate any old electronics you are thinking of tossing.
I hope you’ll find it helpful in your holiday gadget shopping!
