2080895858_0fd6ba8a88 Between germy airplanes, snow-slick highways, temptation to overindulge at every turn, and the general free-flow of alcohol between now and New Year's, it's safe to say that with the holiday season comes some chance for hassles, illness, and injury.

So who'd have thought that one potentially hazardous part of this festive month can occur while you're simply wrapping up your lovingly-purchased presents? Well, according to one aptly-timed report, careless or clumsy gift wrappers can turn it into a full contact sport—resulting in injuries as minor as paper cuts as well as deeper wounds requiring a trip to the doctor.

The poll was conducted by the Institute for Good Medicine in Pennsylvania and found that 17% of Keystone State residents recollected a gift wrapping-related injury to themselves or someone they know in the past several seasons.

No word on weather residents of even colder climes (i.e. the North Pole) are more dexterous and able to wrap without drawing blood.

Why not just buy a tool that makes it incredibly (double-underline, italicized followed by exclamation exclamation) easy to open your Christmas gifts? Zibra came out with a tool called “open-it” to alleviate wrap rage & most importantly to lower the risk of hurting yourself on Christmas morning. Avoid the hospital & spend this time as you should- with your family. And it works! I used it last year for the big day.
Side note- I saw today that gifts.com is giving away several “open-it”s. Here’s the link for anyone who’s interested http://www.gifts.com/sweepstakes/promotions
