Election Day Party Theme For Kids

With Election Day being a current hot topic, I must share an adorable vintage campaign party theme for kids that you'll love whether you're a parent or not — it's so creative and clever! Plus I have tons of photos from this special day to share, so be sure to keep scrolling down to view all of the delicious eye candy. This clever theme was coordinated by creative mom and paper goods designer in Washington, D.C., Suann Song, who happens to have a son named Ike so the party was called, "I Like Ike". The theme was developed around Eisenhower's presidential campaign in the 1960's so a red, white and blue party complete with campaign buttons was in order!

The invite was a ballot with vintage stamps.

The party was easy to design and create by hand through simple DIY ideas like the invitations, bunting, coloring books, decorative objects in mason jars, photo booth, a ballot box constructed from a refrigerator box, etc.

The party was held in a park so the food was kept simple since they packed both boxed and bagged lunches for guests. For the kids favors, Suann had custom rubber stamps made because she wanted something that they could bring home and use long after the party ended.

In addition to Suann's creative direction her friends in the party planning business helped her to make it a special event. Maria Cooke of Ritzy Bee helped with styling, Design Cuisine handled the catering and made the adorable cake and talented photographer Kate Headley took the photos that you see here. What a perfect day for a darling little boy!
