I’m headed for a beach getaway this weekend, and I’ve discovered it’s best to pack light on the beauty products – who wants to pile on the products while you’re swimming and strolling on the beach?

These three are making the cut.

What products will you be using while you’re celebrating outside this weekend?

1. Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry Touch Sunblock, SPF 45, $10 at Drugstore.com
4th neutrogena sunscreen
This has a nice consistency that’s not greasy or too dry, as I find some sprays to be. It also comes in SPF 30 and 70, and the 3 oz. bottle is carry-on friendly.

2. MAC Lipgelee, $14 at Nordstrom
4th mac lipgelle
My go-to gloss at the moment, this is thick enough to stay on for a while but not the slightest bit sticky. Layer it on for a ton of shine, or blot some off for just a hint of color.

3. Johnson’s Baby Lotion, $3.79 at Toys ‘R’ Us
4th johnsons baby lotion
With a gentle formula and a faint powdery scent, this super affordable lotion is perfect to slather on skin that’s been exhausted by the elements.

  1. I LOVE that Neutrogena ultra-sheer sunblock! As a skin cancer survivor, I take sun protection seriously, but I SERIOUSLY hate sticky, slimy, sickening sunblock. This is one of the only that I can tolerate!
BUT…the Walgreens brand of the same product is just as good, and cheaper – significantly cheaper when it’s on sale buy one get one half off. Get that instead!! http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100802&navAction=jump&navCount=0&nug=VPD&skuid=sku5413017&id=prod5414150

  2. Sunscreen is definitely my #1 summer must-have product! You do want to be careful about not choosing and SPF that’s too high…high SPF’s have more chemicals, and just protect you longer (not better). Reapplying every 2 hours is your best bet. THe MAC gloss looks great…I will definitely give that a try. Thanks!!
