The lovely Martine Booth is the owner and lead designer at Greenolive Design in Australia and carries everything from stationery to fabric. She also happens to be a wonderful human being, which to me matters in a world of mostly faceless purchasing where you'll never have a personal interaction with a seller in your local chain store. When you order from Martine, she'll reply with a friendly and helpful email and ensure that your goods are shipped with care and in a timely fashion. That is why this morning, I'd like to point you over to her fabric collection, sold on etsy, as I've sampled it personally and found it to be well made and visually appealing and neutral enough to work in a variety of decorating styles.
All of these designs are original and hand printed on 55% linen and 45% cotton using water-based, environmentally-friendly inks. Martine draws inspiration from African patterns and the urban landscape with motifs that include bicycles, typeface, tribal weave (to name a few) and translates her inspiration into three main collections: tribal, urban type and kids.
If lined, some would be terrific as roman blinds — I imagine a white against linen tribal print in a kitchen or the bicycles in a kid's bedroom. I also see them as tea towels, tablecloths, napkins and pillows – particularly large floor cushions.
Take a look and see what you think. Where would you use these prints in your home?

Looks perfect!! Especially kids collection, so colorful.
OMG! They are FAB!!
Must have gotten some fabric out of this promotion!!! And promoting yet another dot com. When I buy fabric, I really do like to feel it, not just see it on a 18″ monitor, but then again, I also like to support local businesses, so I don’t and won’t have to order things on line. You on the other hand simply don’t get it, and apparently YOU or YOUR READERS don’t care that your local store is going to close because you could buy it on line. You might have gone into a store and actually seen it, and then decided to order it on line, the store had taken the time to search for the products, set up a relationship with the vendor, become knowledgeable of the products, and then order them into their store. Just for you to come “check them out” and order it on line! That’s ok, because YOU have never had to worry about your business making it, since you really do support those dot com’s — and the store did not need to make a sale that day, and now they are closing! Thanks for your support, and thanks for promoting the independent retailers!
Wow, I have only just discovered these gorgeous fabrics by Greenolive Design via Bondville and love them! The urban type range is my favourite!
And as for the comment by ‘Realistic’, I wonder if they’ve ever stopped to think that online businesses are ALSO run by local, independent retailers. Perhaps not local to them personally, but we spend just as much time and care on our products as brick & mortar stores. Larger sites such as Etsy just provide an opportunity for small business owners to sell their handmade wares, and we all need our customer’s support just as much.
Thank you Holly for providing such wonderful exposure for small businesses through your blog and reviews!
