I'm a huge design*sponge fan. It's one of the blogs that I always make sure I read. And my favorite feature of the site is the before and after section. Grace shows some of the best transformations I've seen. And they range from the incredibly complex (see here for a case in point) to the brilliantly simple like the one I'm in awe of today.
This project is from Amanda, a design*sponge reader from Connecticut who recently bought a house, and couldn't afford to have her hollow wooden doors replaced because they were all custom sized. She decided to give them an upgrade in the meantime.
Here's what the doors looked like before:
And here's how she transformed them:
By attaching some molding and putting on a couple of coats of paint, Amanda has completely changed the look of her doors. You would never guess that those are the hollow wooden doors so many renters face. To read more about Amanda and to download her complete step-by-step instructions, check out the post on design*sponge.
What do you think about this project? Do you think it's something you could do?
