Ear Candy

I’ve always said, I love pretty tech. My laptop is wrapped in a bright red plastic case. My BlackBerry is pink (still haven’t gone iPhone yet) and my iPod nano has orange skin.

So it seems only natural that I would want my hands-free Bluetooth headset in a color described as “Lilac You Mean It” or “Drop Me a Lime.”  Starting May 2, Jawbone’s popular and technologically superior headset—which really is better described as earwear—will be sold for the first time in four tasty colors: red, yellow, green and purple.

Model_earcandy_purple This new release is dubbed Jawbone Prime with Ear Candy and claims to be superior to earlier versions  with better audio quality and improved comfort. Several months ago I tested and reviewed an earlier version of the Jawbone headset with Noise Assassin and found it true to its claims. Not a single screaming toddler was heard by the person on the other end of the line and I felt a new found freedom talking hands free.

But pretty ear candy like this does not come cheap. The suggested retail price is around $130 and that could mean more for the accessory than the phone itself.
