Rub-A-Dub-Dub DIY Soap

I love a good DIY project, the easier the better! Lately, I've been trying to spend less money on things that I know I can make myself and I've just added a new project to my list for April: soap making.

I usually purchase bars of lavender or plain ivory soap and simply dress them up with vintage wallpaper scraps or found papers anyway, sealing the wrap with a pretty sticker… but after finding this step-by-step soap making tutorial over at the 100 Layer Cake blog (a blog dedicated to brides), I figured I could make the entire bar of soap. Hey why not, this could be a fun and easy Sunday afternoon project! A bottle of wine, some tunes, a few friends to give me a hand and viola! a little craft time with the girls!

Psst: Speaking of DIY projects, here's a great photo lantern project that I shared on my blog, decor8, last week. You may love to try it for your Spring patio parties. I've added that to my list for August, I plan to make them for our friends who will be throwing a 10th anniversary bash.

Have your tried a DIY project lately? Would you like to share with us what it was and whether your results were successful? Have you
ever made your own soap? Any tips to share with me, a budding soap
