Orla Kiely for Target + Party Inspiration
Since the 1990′s, Orla Kiely has been bringing fresh, bold patterns to life in everything from womenswear and accessories to travel products and homeware. Her colorful & contemporary signature style definitely shines through in all of her collections!
On a pricing scale, the Orla Kiely brand has leaned towards that of a luxury line, which is why I was so excited to hear that she was partnering with Target on a home decor line. You know what that means… style AND affordability!
Launched last month, Orla Kiely for Target does not disappoint! I (finally) saw the collection in person recently, and the colors are fresh and summery, the patterns feature bold fruit & floral motifs… and the prices start at $7.99!
Here are a few screenshots:

The style & affordability factors of these pieces make them great candidates for a party! I’m thinking you could design an entire baby or bridal shower around the Flower Serving Tray alone… starting with the fabulous color palette it brings:
For centerpieces and decorative arrangements, you can bring this same color palette to life with inexpensive blumeboxes and blumebox ribbons (which also work nicely as napkin rings):
For other arrangements, try filling glass cylinder vases or decorative bowls with pears and other fruits that match this color palette – such as bright lemons, limes, oranges, and red delicious apples. Continue playing up the color palette with festive elements like round paper lanterns and bowls of brightly colored candies.
Next, work a few of the Orla Kiely for Target pieces into the buffets and party decor. Here are some ideas:
• Flip small bowls upside down and use them as pedestals for her salad & dinner plates.
• Display signature drinks or one of the focal centerpieces on the Flower Serving Tray.
• Serve desserts or finger foods on the Melamine 2-Tier Server.
• Give the Mugs or a Small Stoneware Pear Canister as prizes for the games.
What other kinds of things could we do for an Orla Kiely-inspired party?
